Week 3 Update
2/22/24 Update
This was mostly a metagame update. The core objective is to give the players something to work towards and collect.
This includes making the Deckbuilding aspects far more front-facing. You now pass through a deckbuilding screen prior to each mission that lets you see your current characters' Deck, plus up to 20 custom slots can be unlocked in the mysteries.
The cards are now unlocked through a Card Shop that replaces the old title screen deck builder.
Objectives:
The next update is the last major "Feature" I'd like to get implemented, an event system that encourages the player to explore more and be forced to adapt to unexpected changes.
At that point, I'm planning to look into balance, bugfixes, and content for a while.
Bug Fixes:
- Melee attacks now show an arc and flash when attacking (I suspect the math is still off)
- Updated the flashback on certain weapons that weren't going back in time properly. (I suspect there are still issues with this system)
- Fixed a bug in weapon upgrading
- Fixed some bugs that created unwinnable states, such as leveling up after you die.
- Further tweaked the spawning functionality since I'm still seeing nearby spawns.
General Changes
- The main metagame now functions.
- Complete story missions to unlock the next in line. (The stages themselves have not changed)
- Use Money to open card packs and Data to unlock mysteries (Unlock characters, stages, abilities, etc)
- The Mystery Panel is now a grid.
- All tiles begin hidden.
- Unlock a tile to view the contents of each neighbor
- The Camera has been updated to give more vision in the direction you are looking and allow for more player control.
- Enemy Units now have a hidden "Level" allowing for more wave difficulty increases than "Spawn Faster"
- Higher-level enemies have higher drop rates. (Currently far too high, but it's better too much than too little)
- They also have more HP, Speed, etc.
Content Changes
- Controller Support Added
- Ninja and Plaguebearer can now be unlocked.
- Katana and Rear Shots are now in the base card pack.
